Workshop: FRP Piping Product Qualification
Why take this course?
This workshop provided by industry expert Edwin Schimmel will explain the qualification program to determine the strength of a FRP piping product. This qualification procedure differs significantly from that for steel piping due to the change in FRP strength over time, and features regression and survival tests to determine the long term strength for design.
What you'll learn
After this live Workshop you,
-will be familiar with the regression test used to determine of the long term strength of FRP piping
-understand the role of a survival test in the qualification procedure of FRP piping
-know how similiar products can be qualified using scaling rules and product families
-have seen the qualification procedure for FRP conform ISO 14692
-know the limitations on regression tests and their sensitivity
About the course
The qualification procedure for FRP differs significantly from that for steel piping due to the decrease in strength of FRP piping over time. To determine these effects the qualification procedure from ISO 14692-2 makes use of regression and survival tests to determine the long term strength for design.
In this live instructor-led session you will be taken through the steps in the regression and survival tests including the sensitivity to specific results. Additionally it is unfeasible to test all components sizes, and within this session the procedure for determining product families and using scaling rules will be explained.
Participants will be taken through the qualification procedure for FRP piping conform ISO 14692-2 and can ask detailed questions to the instructor to ensure they leave with knowledge they apply in their future work.
