    In this half-day course, the concepts of wind energy are introduced and explained in the very first lecture. This is followed by an in-depth technical lecture on how wind can be captured to drive a generator. The main technical design parameters for a wind turbine, such as the power coefficient and the power curve, are discussed in detail.

    Then, during an interactive practical case, you learn how to calculate the energy yield of a wind turbine, using the knowledge previously learned during the lectures

    The session concludes with a lecture where the main parameters and numbers used in the offshore wind industry are explained, such as Levelised Cost of Energy (LCOE), CAPEX and OPEX, as well as an overview of the European market.

    Interactive online lectures and discussions are provided that focus on theory, industry practice and lessons learned from field experts. These lectures are accompanied by a hands-on case in which knowledge gained from the lectures is immediately put into practice.

    This course consists of 3 hours of instructor-led live session which consists of presentations, demonstrations and discussions of questions. During these sessions you are asked to participate actively and have your webcam and microphone on. Participants can ask questions to the instructor which are answered and discussed with all participants.

This DOB-box contains useful documents, like the course manual and items required for hands-on cases, and it includes a surprise. In order to get the DOB-box on time, it is advised to sign up one week before the course startsThis gives us time to prepare and send the DOB-box to your home. 

    Access to the course
    After your purchase is confirmed you receive an account to the EngineeringTrainer online learning portal, where you find the course welcome chapter and instructions on how to join the live sessions. Sessions are held using the software Zoom and a log-in link is provided for each session through the portal. A test link is provided from the start such as to test if you are able to properly join the sessions prior to the first session.
