    In this half-day course, our expert teachers provide a technical overview of the main parameters and characteristics of offshore support structures for wind turbines.    

    You learn to distinguish between the different types of loads faced by engineers during the design process of an offshore support structure and how these can be predicted and modeled by using ocean, wind, and soil data. The second lecture delves into several important characteristics, such as the strength and applicability of the mainstream types of support structures, and discusses their potential, but also their limitations in practical use.

    This fundamental knowledge forms the basis for the last lecture on the theory of monopile design, in which vital technical design considerations are discussed. The training course concludes with an interactive case on the design of a monopile. A perfect way to experience first-hand how complex the design of a monopile can be.

    Interactive online lectures and discussions are provided that focus on theory, industry practice and lessons learned from field experts. These lectures are accompanied by a hands-on case in which knowledge gained from the lectures is immediately put into practice.

    This course consists of 3 hours of instructor-led live session which consists of presentations, demonstrations and discussions of questions. During these sessions you are asked to participate actively and have your webcam and microphone on. Participants can ask questions to the instructor which are answered and discussed with all participants.

    In preparation for this course, you receive a DOB-box at home (or your office). This DOB-box contains useful documents, like the course manual and items required for hands-on cases, and it includes a surprise. In order to get the DOB-box on time, it is advised to sign up one week before the course startsThis gives us time to prepare and send the DOB-box to your home. 

    Access to the course
    After your purchase is confirmed you receive an account to the EngineeringTrainer online learning portal, where you find the course welcome chapter and instructions on how to join the live sessions. Sessions are held using the software Zoom and a log-in link is provided for each session through the portal. A test link is provided from the start such as to test if you are able to properly join the sessions prior to the first session.
