Solar Photovoltaic Systems for Industrial Plants

  • 10hr
  • This IN-COMPANY training is not available as part of the MEMBERSHIPS, but can be booked private.

Why take this course?

This self-paced course guides participants through designing, commissioning, and operating solar photovoltaic systems for industrial sites, emphasizing sustainability and green energy. It covers fundamental principles, legislation, system design, and real-world case studies. The course includes video lectures, quizzes, and offers a certificate with PDH credits upon completion.

What you'll learn

After this course, you...
• understand the fundamental concepts, principles and components of solar PV in and industrial setting,
• have a good overview of the relevant legislation,
• have seen the design calculations and technical document required,
• be familiar with methods to accommodate the under• performance and intermittency issues,
• understand the steps needed for installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of solar panels in an industrial setting,
• have seen cases based on real-life projects where Solar PV has been installed in an industrial plant.

About the course

To meet the goals of the Paris Agreement industry needs to become more sustainable. For this electri?cation of the industry to be able to use green energy sources such as solar will play an important role. Solar photovoltaic systems can be located directly on an industrial site to provide electrical power, but where to start from the perspective of design, commissioning, maintenance, and intermittency in power production?

This training course takes participants through the steps from designing to operating a solar photovoltaic system on an industrial site. The first courses explain the fundamental principles, the major components needed, and what legislation needs to be adhered to. System design calculations are then explained, including how these should be presented, requirements from the grid, and how to deal with underperformance. Participants are then taken through the installation, testing, and commissioning steps. The course concludes with two case studies based on real-life solar photovoltaic installations.

The course consists of 10 hours of live sessions with the instructors. All training content is provided through your EngineeringTrainer account.
