This DOB-Online training course focuses mainly on the aerodynamics of wind turbines and an explanation of the offshore wind industry. The expert instructor will teach you how wind can be used as a powerful power source.
First, the concept of wind is introduced and further explained in the very first lecture. This is followed by an in-depth technical lecture on how wind can be captured to drive a generator. Main technical design parameters for a wind turbine, such as the power coefficient and the power curve, are covered as well. Then, during a hands-on case, you will learn how to calculate the energy yield of a wind turbine, using the knowledge previously learned during the lectures. The training course concludes with a lecture where the main parameters and numbers used in the offshore wind industry are explained, such as Levelised Cost of Energy (LCOE), CAPEX and OPEX, as well as an overview of the European market.
You receive 1-year unlimited access to the course and the discussions forum. This allows you to perform modules again when you need to refresh knowledge for your work projects.
