Masterclass: Pressure Equipment Directive (PED): Role of Harmonised and Non-harmonised standards
Masterclass: Pressure Equipment Directive (PED): Role of Harmonised and Non-harmonised standards
About the course
The PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) is part of the European Union’s legislative framework aimed at harmonising requirements for the design, manufacture and conformity assessment of pressure equipment and assemblies with a maximum allowable pressure (PS) greater than 0.5 barg. Economic operators (manufacturers, importers and distributors) need to be aware of their responsibilities and how to fulfil them.
What is the role of harmonised standards such as the EN 13445 for pressure vessel design in complying with the PED? Equally how can non-harmonised standards such as the ASME VIII be used within the framework of the PED? In this expert led masterclass industry expert Colin Pimley will explain the role of the harmonized (EN) standards and non-harmonised standards from the perspective of Products, Materials, Permanent joining and NDT.
Participants can ask questions to the instructor and will go through quizzes and example exercises together with the instructor, giving the optimal experience to grow through their knowledge of the PED.
