This video lesson shows how Zeepipe, one of the world’s longest subsea pipelines, behaves under various conditions, both steady state as transient. Advanced simulation methods consider sea currents, the pipe’s inner surface and various other parameters to predict its capacity accurately. Transient simulations are used to investigate the pipe’s storage capacity (packing), as well as fire safety in case of rupture.
